Russian Deputy Defence Minister Anatoly Antonov made a strict representation to the military attache at the Turkish embassy in Moscow Rear Admiral A. Gunes.

On December 13, 2015, military attaché, military naval attaché at the Turkish embassy in Moscow Rear Admiral Ahmet Gunes has been urgently invited to the Russian Defence Ministry to have a conversation with Russian Deputy Defence Minister Anatoly Antonov, Russian Defence Ministry reports.

The Turkish military attaché has been made a strict representation concerning detrimental consequences of the reckless actions of Ankara towards the Russian military contingent, which is performing counterterrorist tasks in Syria.

In particular, the Turkish military attaché was informed about deep concern over the provocative actions of the Turkish party towards the Russian guard ship Smetlivy in the Aegean Sea, which had had to open warning fire to prevent collision with the Turkish vessel Gechitsiler Balik Chilik.

Just by good fortune, the tragedy had been avoided.

Rear Admiral Ahmet Gunes promised to bring the representation to attention of Ankara immediately.
