Issues of protecting IT infrastructure facilities are being resolved, but the fact that services remain operational even after attacks by Ukrainian drones on data centers indicates that work has been done to provide redundancy for them. This was stated on Monday, October 12, by the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev.

"Of course, Yandex has faced an unprecedented attack. The Ministry of Digital Development, together with the Ministry of Defence, are resolving the issue of covering these facilities," Interfax quotes Shadaev's speech at a meeting of the relevant State Duma committee.

"Given the scale of the attack, the fact that these services continue to function shows that colleagues have paid the necessary attention both to redundancy and to the distribution of capacities. Of course, the attacks in terms of scale – we were all tracking this in real time – were unprecedented. And of course, now the entire industry is helping to resolve the problems that have arisen," the minister said.

On the morning of Sunday, October 11, Yandex reported that at the company's data center in Vladimir, infrastructure was damaged as a result of a UAV attack, and the operation of the data center was completely halted.

The data center in Vladimir is the third infrastructure facility of Yandex to be damaged by drone attacks in recent days. Earlier, damage was caused to data centers in the Ryazan and Kaluga regions.
