"We’ve retained expertise, for example, in Project 636 Varshavyanka-class submarines. Our staff is still employed, too. Sure, not in the amount we used to have in the past, but in case of the relevant orders, we can prepare for construction of diesel subs within a year", assured Pershin.
Mikhail Pershin headed Krasnoye Sormovo in January 2018. His career in the company started in 2001.
Established in 1849, Krasnoye Sormovo is one of the Russia’s oldest shipyards. Over the Soviet period, the company had built and modernized over 300 submarines and rescue vehicles, including 25 nuclear-powered ones. Currently, the yard builds commercial ships qualifying for requirements of international conventions in terms of reliability and safety.
