"To us, diversification is the clearly perceived task assigned by the President of Russia", Aleksey Rakhmanov stressed.

The USC director added that Admiralteyskie Verfi and Amur Shipyard were the two key manufacturers of fishing vessels, reported Mil.Press Today.

"We failed to persuade fishing companies to order long-term series: every order slightly differs from the previous one. Currently, the maritime register includes 1,700 or 1,800 trawlers. We hope for a long program, a 5-7 years long plan. We’d really appreciate if our colleagues from the Federal Agency for Fishery hear us", said the USC top-ranking official.

In December 2017, president Putin set a task to increase the share of civil products of defense companies at least up to 17% by 2020, up to 30% by 2025 and up to 50% by 2030. Putin mentioned aircraft industry, shipbuilding, healthcare, telecommunications, space technologies, robotechnics and fuel/energy sector as the priority markets for defense companies’ diversification.
